Mukhtar Kiyani
Founder & Mortgage Adviser, Finch Mortgage
I started Finch Mortgage because I watched too many Auckland families get lost in bank processes — told no when the answer should have been yes, or left waiting when they could have been buying. With 15+ years across ASB, Westpac and BNZ, I know how lenders think — and I use that to get my clients better outcomes than they'd get going to a bank alone. Whether you're buying your first home, have been declined, or just want to know where you stand — I'll give you a straight answer. No jargon, no pressure, no fee.
What clients say
"We'd been to two banks and hit dead ends. One call with Finch and we had a clear plan. Three months later we had our keys."
James & Mere — bought in Manurewa
"I thought we were at least a year away. After one call we understood exactly where we stood and moved much faster than expected."
Sarah & Tom — first home buyers, Papakura
"Completely stress-free. They handled everything and got us a rate the bank wouldn't give us directly."
Priya M. — Manukau
"Mukhtar has simply been amazing to deal with, the fastest most knowledgeable advice I was given in my enquiries and really helped along the way! Thank you so so much!"

Common questions
Is the consultation really free?
Yes, completely free. We're paid by the lender when your mortgage settles — not by you. You pay nothing, ever, for our advice.
What if I'm not ready to buy yet?
That's absolutely fine. Knowing where you stand now means when you are ready, you're not starting from zero. Many clients book this call 6–12 months before they plan to buy.
What if my deposit is small?
There are low-deposit options, Kāinga Ora First Home Loan schemes, and lender policies many people don't know about. You may have more options than you think.
Can I use my KiwiSaver? What about the First Home Grant?
Yes to both. If you've been contributing to KiwiSaver for 3+ years, you can likely withdraw most of it for your deposit. You may also qualify for the First Home Grant - up to $10,000 per person. We'll confirm exactly what you're entitled to on the call.
What happens after I submit the form?
We'll contact you for a quick 15-minute conversation to understand your situation and discuss what options may be available. There's no obligation to proceed.
